Welcome to My Blog!
Hi, I'm Edison and I'm a first-year student at Duke taking WR101 Decoding Disney.
Cars perfectly encompasses these aspects. Lightning McQueen speaks with the other cars in English, has emotions, and competes in spectator events just like humans do. While doing all of this, he and the other cars are responsible for getting their tires changed, refueling, and other car-related tasks. Beyond these amusing details, Cars also contains many thrilling, clutch moments, and a heartwarming underdog story that ties it all together into one masterpiece of a movie.
Hi Edison! I also love movies where animals or inanimate objects are somewhat personified— "Cars 1" is an obvious example, but aside from that, the "Toy Stories" series has always been one of my favorite watches; as a child watching those movies, I began to explore the depths of my imagination and probe into my own life, wondering if my own toys had their own, personified life. I look forward to getting to know you!
ReplyDeleteHi Edison! Welcome! :)
ReplyDeleteYou're so right about how Disney excels at making movies with anthropomorphized animals and objects -- it started in Snow White and has pretty much become a staple of their films -- and Pixar, too! I love the (sort of?) joking viral post about how all of Pixar is basically "What if X had feelings?" We'll actually be watching Cars at the end of the semester, so can't wait to hear your thoughts!
Hi! I have to be honest I remember watching Cars growing up but I don't remember anything about the movie. Pixar is always a hit so I bet it will be great! I'm glad its on our semester list so that I get to see it and remember it again! Toy Story is also a favorite of mine as well though! I'm pretty sure it is the only series where I enjoyed the THIRD sequel! I was pretty impressed they made an interesting plot by the fourth movie, because I love Forky so much and thought he was hilarious! Excited to work with you this semester!
